…It’s now full speed ahead! August has proved to be an exciting month for MX Bulk as Ursula Manx, the latest and largest vessel to enter the fleet, was delivered under an almost clear sky. Whilst shoreside excitement continued, the 82,000mt, 229m vessel under the command of Capt. Wu was straight to work and proceeded South towards Australia to load MX Bulk’s first cargo in the Kamsarmax sector. Credit must be given to all parties involved, both locally and remotely, in completing delivery of the vessel during these challenging times. We wish the crew fair winds and following season her maiden voyage and for many years to come.

Not content with the excitement of the delivery, sister vessel Vorana Manx was also launched in August to undertake sea trials before an expected delivery in late October. Having two Kamsarmax vessels on the water within 6 weeks of each other is quite the achievement and we would like to once again congratulate, and thank, Tsuneishi for their exceptional efforts to remain on schedule during the pandemic. Excitement builds again as we look forward to delivery and perhaps she will one day be seen sailing past her homeport of Douglas.

Looking to the future, a series of four sister Ultramax vessels are due to begin construction later this year for delivery throughout the second half of 2022. Once delivered, MX Bulk’s fleet will constitute nine vessels across the two dry bulk sectors.
