You wait a long time for a bus and then three come along at once, or so they say. March has so far proved the old adage true for MX Bulk with three exciting vessel updates to share.
The Start of the month brought the signing of not one but two new-build contracts to expand the ever growing fleet of Ultramaxes. Newly Manx-named Greeba Manx and Kirry Manx, like sister ships Ellan Manx and Maye Manx, are due for delivery in the second half of 2022 at which point the fleet will be far past the milestone of half a million metric tonnes.
As for bus number three, today marks the keel laying of MX Bulk’s second Kamsarmax, Ursula Manx, at Tsuneishi’s Zhoushan shipyard. Past experience tells us that the build progress will now proceed at pace and Ursula Manx will be delivered shortly before sister vessel Vorana Manx in Q3 next year.
We hope to provide further updates on the progress of our six newbuilds at regular intervals but, much like our beleaguered commuter, we know to expect the odd surprise!
